Women may want to consider the adoption of life cover if they are a single mother, one commentator has suggested, which could interest those thinking about getting a new life insurance policy.
Writing in an article published by Women24.com, Sanlam Personal Finance solutions actuary Lizelle Nel pointed out the need for such females to have life cover in place.
She stated: "Make sure that your finances are in order and that you have sufficient life cover to ensure your child will be financially cared for if you should pass away."
However, this is not the only form of insurance which Ms Nel feels could be useful to individuals.
Single mums might also want to look into purchasing disability cover, the expert added in her article for the news provider.
Insure.com senior managing editor Amy Danise recently noted that people could make misjudged decisions about life insurance if they fail to properly understand it.
