People might be able to protect their finances by opting for life insurance products, one expert has suggested.

Writing in an article published by lfpress.com, Chris Cahill has encouraged consumers to think about taking out a variety of insurance policies.

He stated: "Obtain appropriate insurance coverage on contents, liability, overhead, disability, and life and critical illness insurance."

In his article, the expert pointed out that consumers might want to do this in a bid to protect themselves, their families and their businesses from "financial ruin".

Meanwhile, Mr Cahill also went on to advocate the use of professional advisers, such as financial planners, which could help people to make the right decisions about monetary issues relating to their lives.

Earlier this week, figures published by price comparison website Confused.com showed that as many as 60 per cent of the UK's consumers do not currently have any life insurance in place. ADNFCR-3155-ID-800007213-ADNFCR
